How We Get There

In order to succeed, we must overcome our fears and work diligently toward our goal. (Myself included!) For every smooth mile there’s a chance you’ll hit a roadblock. But by staying true to the course and passing one checkpoint after another, you’ll eventually arrive at your destination.

These 6 phases serve as helpful guideposts that keep all of us moving on the path to math success.

Getting On Track

This phase is all about your goals and your can-do attitude. Let’s redefine words that may instill fear so you can feel confident in what you want to achieve. You can think about M.A.T.H. this way: M.A.T.H. means “Mistakes Allow Thinking to Happen.”

Mistakes Allow Thinking to Happen

The reality of working towards an any goal is that mistakes will happen along the way. Having the courage to retrace your steps, recognize the error, and rework the solution helps you learn in a deeper way. The next time you see that problem on the horizon, you’ll be able to solve it from a mile away!

F-A-I-L

First Attempt In Learning

Failure is a natural part of the learning process, and it’s actually a good thing — it means you’ve decided you’re willing to overcome your fear. So don’t let it hold you back! Growth can be painful, but reaching new heights is always worth the view.

Take A Break

Detours + Roadside Attractions

Every couple of hours, it’s nice to stop and stretch your legs for a little while. Take a pit stop to reflect on where you came from and where you’re going. Listen to someone’s story, find some inspiration, or just laugh at a silly joke. Every journey is better when there’s room for a little fun!
